Homburg Canada Inc. Company Profile

Managing and developing real estate along the global skyline
Homburg Canada is a private real estate investment and management company based in Nova Scotia, Canada. We are a wholly owned subsidiary of the Homburg Group. From our headquarters in Halifax, Homburg Canada acts as asset manager for Homburg Invest Inc. as well as for third parties, including a diverse portfolio of quality real estate in North America and Europe. We oversee the administrative operations of Homburg's global portfolio.

Real estate services
Homburg Canada stays focused on the basics of real estate management and investment. That means staying focused on our corporate vision, learning from adversity, consolidating our successes and building on them.

Our wide array of services both in North America and Europe include real estate acquisition and development, asset management and administration.

We offer a variety of management agreements covering real estate asset management, and crisis and project management services. Homburg Canada aligns its role as asset manager with the interests of the property owner through profit-sharing arrangements, both on an operating basis when profits surpass a pre-set level, and upon the eventual sale of the asset.

At Homburg Canada, we have formed a strategic partnership with a leading construction company, Centron Group of Companies in Calgary, Alberta. Homburg-Centron Teamworks was created to develop and construct commercial offices, retail complexes, a business park and as many as 10,000 residential units in the coming years. Most of this activity will be in Western Canada; however, the partnership will also operate in other parts of Canada, in keeping with our overall strategy of geographic diversity.

As of June 30, 2009, our total assets, managed and under administration were approximately C$4.6billion, including residential apartments, commercial offices, retail complexes and warehouses.

In May 2010 Homburg Invest Inc sold its Canadian investment properties to a company with an internalized management structure.

The Homburg History

"Reculer pour mieux sauter!", or take a step back for a longer leap. This French idiom reflects Homburg's prudent approach. In 2009 it is an impressive enterprise, whose story began in Hattem, in the Dutch province of Gelderland. That is where Richard Homburg made his first real estate investment at Kruistraat, number 16.

Richard Homburg gradually grew his real estate portfolio. A major step forward came in 1976. After his move to Canada, he purchased a construction company there that was also in possession of a number of residences. This was the launching pad for an expansion on two continents.

Uni-Invest
While more real estate was being purchased and developed in Canada and in the US, Richard Homburg expanded newly acquired Uni-Invest N.V from a troubled, approximately 30-million Euro real estate fund into a highly profitable and reputable 2-billion Euro fund. At the same time in Europe, real estate projects were developed and taken over in Germany, Switzerland, and the Baltic countries.

After Richard Homburg acquired Uni-Invest in 2002, he established Homburg N.V. and immediately set about working at his main passion: successful operation of real estate holdings. The achievements from this period are impressive. Uni-Invest became a success, and Homburg Invest Inc. (the real estate fund set up in Canada and listed on the Toronto Stock Exchange and on Euronext Amsterdam) enjoyed phenomenal growth. Finally, the venerable AMS Hotel group was completely reorganized and brought to flourish again.
