“In Canada, I have someone on staff who has been working for me for over thirty years and is now over 90. When he was due for retirement, he said he wanted to stay on. He smoked two to three packs of cigarettes a day and had already had a heart attack. Since then he’s had a triple-bypass, quit smoking, and jogs five miles a day. So now he’s at the office every working day like normal. When I see him, he says ‘Homburg. Do you still want to keep paying me?’ I considered giving that man a 100 percent raise in pay! The passion that he displayed is an inspiration to his colleagues”, remarked Richard Homburg in an interview. You could say the man was afflicted with a hyperactive work ethic, but he simply took pleasure in his work. And that’s true for just about every employee, regardless of their position.
