Management biographies

F.W. Matheson (1944)

Frank Matheson is CEO of Homburg Canada Inc. Educated in Halifax, N.S. he was active in the Insurance Industry for 20 years prior to joining the Homburg Group in 1985. He has held numerous positions in the companies becoming President in 1992. He deals with all facets of real estate development, investment and property management. He is located in the Halifax office.

A. Phillips (1968)

Ashley Phillips has held numerous positions within Homburg Canada across the country since joining the company in 1993 and has been appointed President and COO as of 2009. Mr. Phillips has an Economics Degree, which he received from Acadia University. He also holds a Real Property Administrator (RPA) designation that he received from The Building Owners and Managers Institute (BOMI). He is located in the Calgary office.

G. Lawlor, CA (1967)

Mr. Lawlor is currently Executive VP and CFO of Homburg Canada Incorporated. He has been with the company since August 2005. After graduating from Saint Mary’s University (Halifax, NS) in 1988 with a Bachelor of Science (Mathematics), he began work with a Chartered Accounting firm, receiving his CA designation in 1994. Prior to working at Homburg he spent seven years at Emera Inc., a publicly traded utility company, leaving as Director of Finance.

G. Charron, CA (1956)

Mr. Charron is Executive VP and COO for Homburg Real Estate Trust (previously Alexis Nihon Real Estate Investment Trust which was acquired by Homburg in April 2007). After graduating from Sherbrooke University (Sherbrooke, Québec) with a Bachelor’s degree in Administration, Major in Accounting, he began his career at Deloitte (Montréal) until 1989. Mr. Charron is a member of the Ordre des comptables agréés du Québec since 1981 and a member of the Canadian Institute of Chartered Accountants. Before joining Alexis Nihon, he held numerous positions including the function of President and Chief Operating Officer for a public traded retail company. He is located in the Montréal (Québec) office.

C. Hetzler (1961)

Ms. Hetzler has recently been appointed as Director of Taxation and has been with Homburg since July 2007 when she was hired as Senior Tax Manager. She holds a Bachelor of Business Administration from Acadia University and is a Certified Management Accountant since 1998. In 2000, she began to specialize in corporate tax. Prior to joining Homburg, she worked as a Corporate Tax Consultant for five years with Emera Inc.

S. Homburg-Beaumont (1972)

Mrs. Homburg-Beaumont began her employment with Homburg Canada back in 1998. In 2008 she was appointed as VP-Residential Real Estate, Atlantic Canada for Homburg Canada and also serves as Executive Director for the Homburg Charitable Foundation. Mrs. Homburg-Beaumont has served on a variety of local boards; most recently she served two years on the Board of Directors for Make-A-Wish Foundation of Atlantic Canada.

M. Foran (1967)

Monique Foran has been with the Homburg Group since 1999 and is currently the Director of Finance and Administration. She has also held the roles of Systems Administrator, Controller and Director of Financial Reporting during this time. After attending Dalhousie University she worked at a local Chartered Accounting firm for 10 years before joining Homburg. She is a Certified General Accountant.
